Villa Bugda, Humble villa blends in with nature - Reykjavik, IS

At the edge of a big lake and a national park we have designed a humble villa that respects its surrounding nature, by minimising its footprint, making a sculpted organic composition, using natural materials, and a green roof. The section is enriched with a large roof-plane that organises the plan.

The unique shape of the house ensures views of the national park without cutting down surrounding trees. The generously dimensioned sculptured roof protects the house and terrace from rain and sun, while blending in with the landscape in a subtle manner.
